What fantastic shows we had the privilege to see!
The 'Living Together' group were honored to be invited to two of the biggest performances at both the Sephardic AND the Arab Festivals of Montreal. Each of these were sponsored by the festival directors (A big thank you to Mr Robert Abitbole, and Mr Joseph Nackle).
We were all excited to get the opportunity to see cultural performances by both Jewish and Arab communities. The evenings we spent together were full of entertainment, learning and fun. A few ‘Living Together’ participants were unfortunately not able to attend - We missed you guys, and will share more of what we saw when we meet again!!

Nous avons eu l’opportunité d’assister à deux superbes spectacles!!
L’équipe de «Vivre Ensemble » à eu l’honneur d’assister à deux des plus grands spectacles du Festival du Monde Arabe et du Festival Sépharade de Montréal. Ces derniers ont été gracieusement offert par les directeurs de ces deux festivals (un grand merci à monsieur Joseph Nakhlé et à Robert Abitbole).
Nous étions tous très excités d’avoir le privilège d’assister à ces deux spectacles culturels arabes et juifs.Ces deux soirées étaient tout aussi amusantes que constructive. Quelques jeunes de l’équipe «Vivre Ensemble » étaient malheureusement dans l’incapacité d’y assister – Vous nous avez manqué! Nous partagerons cette expérience avec vous lors de notre prochaine rencontre!!!
Sunday, November 14th - we arrived at the Monument National, a historical Montréal theatre, to see the closing show for the Sephardic Festival. It was a concert by musical artists David Daor (three-time winner of the Israeli "Singer of the Year") and Shlomo Bar (a pioneer of ethnic music in Israel).
Some of us were familiar with a few of the songs, having heard them at school – but all of us were impressed by the performance! We were particularly taken when David Daor sang a song dedicated to his son. It gave us goosebumps!

Dimanche 14 novembre - Nous arrivé au Monument National, un théâtre montréalais historique, pour assister au spectacle de fermeture du Festival du monde Arabe. Ce fut le concert de deux artistes, David D’Or (trois fois élu chanteur israélien de l’année)et Shlomo Bar ( un pionnier de la musique ethnique israélienne). Certains parmi nous étaient familiers avec quelques unes des chansons, les ayant déjà entendus à l’école, mais nous étions tous très impressionnés par le grand talent de ces artistes ! Nous étions tous envoutés par la chanson que David d’Or a écrit pour son fils. Ca nous a donné la chaire de poule !
Wednesday, November 10th - we traveled to Theatre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts to see the National Algerien Ballet. They performed an amazing series of dances representing all the regions of Algeria. Among these, the Chaoui, Burnous, Tindouf, Touareg, and Kabyle dances.
Most of us had never seen a performance like this and the sounds of the drumming and flute made us all move and clap to the rhythms played.

Mercredi 10 novembre- Nous sommes allés au théâtre Maisonneuve à Place des Arts afin d’assister au Ballet National Algérien. Ce fut une remarquable série de danses représentant toutes les régions de l’Algérie tel que le des danses Chaoui, Burnous, Tindouf, Touareg, et Kabyle…
La plupart parmi nous n’avaient encore jamais assisté à une performance de la sorte. Le son des percussions et de la flute nous ont tous donné envie de taper des mains pour suivre le rythme.
