Our Photography Project begins!!

Today we began our session with a fun ice breaker called “stuck on an island”! We were divided into two groups and each group was told to imagine that they were stranded on an island. The groups  had to collectively choose from three “bags” of items they would take with them and come up with a survival plan. Both groups ended up choosing bag 2, but they had unique reasons for their choice (E.g. one group said they would use the blankets for warmth, but the other group added that they would use the blankets for shelter by making a tent out of them).

After the ice breaker, we took a quick snack break and gave participants time to add more questions to our “boite a questions”

Then we moved on to the photo piece of our session. Amanda presented fantastic examples of photographs to provide some inspiration. She provided a more in-depth look at self-portraiture, teaching us about the rule of thirds and lighting.

Lastly, after having feedback with Amanda, participants presented a few of their own photos to the group. They had the opportunity to explain to the group the meaning behind each photo and any special technique they used. For our first round of photo presentations, we were off to a great start!
